Could anyone please provide links arguing for and against the use of torture in law enforcement, citing specific cases in which it was successful or unsuccessful, or warranted or unwarranted. Or, it can deal with the topic in general

Here is an idea, go to www.google.com and type "torture" "for" "against" and from the returned links, read the ones that catch ur eye, then take notes, then go take a bubble bath.

also, heres a very good link arguing for the ethical use of torture, which was my side...it was very tough to argue in favor of something like this, but this fella came up with some good arguements...so it's here if anyone needs it in the future

Re: Debate On Torture

I dont have anything specific to quote, but if youre referring to torture as in beatings, maiming, anything involving massive pain ect, its innefective at best. The average subject will tell you pretty much anything you want to hear, and fairly quickly. Thats why things like waterboarding, stress positions, preying on phobias, ect are so effective. It only clouds the mind for a short time, rather than the results you get from beatings which last.
