I started out with a 3 dollar book I bought at COSTCO titled Teeth of the Tiger and quickly read Rainbow Six after that. I started reading another book, can't remember the title but it was one of those where he doesn't write it, just thinks up the concept and someone else writes it. I didn't like the style so I stopped reading it.

I liked Rainbow Six and Teeth of the Tiger was pretty good, anyone read much of his books and have an opinion on what to read next?

Without Remorse is probably his best book next to Hunt For Red October. The book introduces you to the origins of Mr. Clark.

yeah, that is a good idea... they'll make more sense and you'll get a lot more of the inside/obscure references.
I tried reading a couple of the "Tom Clancy's: Whatever" books like Netforce and the other one and was bored to tears... didn't really like them and never finished.

Patriot Games was my favorite Clancy Book. I actually thought that The Hunt for Red October made a better movie. One of those rare instances where the movie is better than the book.

never read patriot games or red october but read everything else that is fiction...my personal favorite is Executive Orders (i think it's called) where America is in disarray and Jack Ryan takes over as president. The ending , not to ruin it , is hilarious

Funny you should ask this....I was just about to make a post about my Clancy books.

I have 14 Tom Clancy paperbacks to get rid of.

They are:

Red Rabbit
Executive Orders
Patriot Games
The Cardinal of the Kremlin
Rainbow Six
Without Remorse
The Bear and the Dragon
SSN
The Teeth of the Tiger
The Hunt For Red October
Clear and Present Danger
Red Storm Rising
The Sum of all Fears
Debt of Honor

I would part with these very cheap, and could ship them via media mail to save even more $$$.

They are all used paperbacks. Let me know if you are interested.
