There will be blood

This movie has been out for some time and I haven't met anyone else that has seen it. IMHO it is one of the most compelling manly movies that has been released in a long time. Has anyone here seen it?

Re: There will be blood

I have to differ here. I was expecting a different, very good cinematic experience based on the hype and instead was treated to a boring, overwrought movie that was hilarious when it didn't really intend to be. I was never compelled to care about any of the characters or their motivations.

I wanted my netflix slot back and 2 hours of my life back by the end.
I've enjoyed some "different" movies in my time, but this one struck me as one of those Emperor's New Clothes movies that people are afraid to just say "WTF?" at the end.

Daniel Day Lewis was great and convincing as the main dude, but I didn't even care.

Re: There will be blood

I found myself fast forwarding through several scenes. It was decent I guess and as always Daniel Day-Lewis really gets into character, but I just didn't get hooked into the movie.

Now in its defense it did come out right about the same time No Country For Old Men did and that really overshadowed it in my opinion. I keep wondering when I am going to run across a crazy wild-eyed Mexican with a compressed air bottle in his hand. I think I'm gonna shoot first and ask questions later when it does happen.

Re: There will be blood

See now I thought No country for old men was really good but it didn't show what I would call the climax of the movie when the guy died at the motel. I mean here is the main character of the film, we follow him through all this crazy shit and then we don't get to see him die. I thought for sure he was going to have a stand off with the guy chasing him, especially after he has the phone conver with him. But then he just gets killed with no scene and no real ending.. he is just gone. wtf

Re: There will be blood

left you wanting more... I guess that was the intent.

I just watched Taken... Another great movie that was expected to be a dud by the idiotic critics who think because the graduated from some college with some degree in film or cinema that it makes them an expert.
