Some progress pics

Ok, so my fat ass has lost some weight and put on some muscle... a little, but it's a change. I was forced to slow down my cardio a lot, none for two months, because of a torn menicus in my right knee (wakeboarding...) so I spent most of my time lifting.

Back in Jan/Feb I started hard at it for the most part; here are some pictures below.

Please critique and give me some advice to help get me a little leaner or ripped up. (BA, no jacking off to my pictures either) I think I'm around 8%BF?

Depending on whether you want, bulk, or want to lean out...one area I always suggest for quick visual enhancement is the triceps. A well defined tricep can do more to add definition and visual bulk to one's arms than a huge bicep. Additionally adding mass to the bicep is exponentially more difficult than the tricep.

A low impact bench excersizes include nose breakers, or double bar tricep dips.

Nose breakers are perfromed with a close grip on the middle of the bar with about 1/2 or a 1/3 of the weight you would normally use for a bicep curl, (can also use dumbbells, but I wouldn't recommend it), laying on your back, extend your arms fully with the bar sitting in your palms, and then bend at the elbow dropping the bar toward your face. When performed properly you should be lowering the bar at the same rate that you raise it. Hit those 3 times a week, and you'll start to see results very quickly.

nice progress, my only advise it to keep it fun so you stick with it and don't stop

triceps are the bigger muscle on your arm so developing them will make your arms look bigger vs doing bicep curls

it looks like you got into pretty damn good shape, a program that kicked my ass locally (even though i was biking 2hrs a day 5x a week) was called CrossFit, the warmup is a workout in itself and then the exercise is like 3-5 exercises

it would go something like this
body weight dips (w/ rings)
lunges (20, 10 per leg)
500m row (about 2 minutes)
some kind of situp (windshield wipers, stars, etc)
pushups
stretch
REPEAT 3-5 times (usually would take 20-30 minutes)

then you would do some kind of workout, alot of SQUATS and medicine ball and ring workouts...the 2nd week into this i puked because i went to hard in the warmup

now i had class 3x a week for my mba so i couldn't go (work and school) i'm trying to keep up on the bike though

This week I've got back on the elliptical and hit it hard. Two days, 30 mins on level 8 keep around 6.8 for speed. Jumps my heart rate up to 185... Kill some fat!

You're right, Bill, I haven't worked my tris hard or if I do it's one day a week. I do a lot of bench and try and work some tris in but I never kill them.
It's funny, when I first started back in the gym around Jan. I could only do about 135 x 8; I've now gotten up to 225. I start with 135 x 12, quick reps, 170 x 8, 190 x 8 and then 225 x 3.

I try and do a lot of core and legs; I want to keep them strong for wakeboarding so I don't tired after 10 mins of riding.

A little update:

I've still been killing it in the gym, trying to lift heavy and grow some to fill out a little more.
I've been working out with these other two guys a good bit and they are killing me. The one guy does body building comps; he's 6'5", 275lb and about 7% bf.... and insane strong. IE 500lb bench backed with 465 squats 5x.

Here is a gayish picture my gf snapped of me on 1/14/10 while we were a hote in Jackson Hole, WY...snowboarding. My arms have gotten about 1" bigger and my chest, back and shoulders have grown some. It's hard for me to notice a difference.
I'll try and get some more recent pics this week.

Gay question; do I still look heavy?

Lookin' good B. I'll join you and start doin' some before and after pic. I'm not trying to get bigger though... i would like bigger arms and shoulders, but I don't really hit the gym that often. It's kinda annoying to goto it on and off base all the time.
