Re: Vista RC1
In the pictures -- what is the thing in the upper right hand corner? Is that an osX type of widgets control panel or what?
The thing that I am most leary of, is a new operating system that will not support any of the old devices that I have, such as my scanner and printers. That is the primary problem that I ran into in upgrading to XP64. Two of my printers, and my scanner, do not work correctly. One thing that I would like to see, is the ability to quickly lay a small graphic/logo in the corner, that is independant of the desktop. That would be nice for corporate environments

Re: Vista RC1
Its called the side bar. There are numerous things you can add to it. Adding a graphic would be pretty easy. You can even have it do a slide show.
As far as drivers the 32bit version of Vista is pretty much like XP. It installed all drivers for me, even my printer. Now its still beta so its still a work in progress. So some stuff might now work. Some XP drivers will work with it. As for the 64bit version, well that hasn't changed yet but hopefully it will in the future. |

Nix, What I am referring to in this particualr sentence, is not the sidebar piece, but right now, xp uses walpaper if you want to add a picture to your desktop. So here where I work, we have created a wallpaper that has our logo in the corner. The problem with this is, if you change screen size, then the logo looks like crap. It would be nice to have the ability to lay a logo in somewhere on the desktop, and not have it be tied to the wallpaper. It's a small thing, but right now, it is an absolute pain in the ass to change on an enterprise wide basis.

Re: Vista RC1
unless you just make your wallpaper a humongous size, in each respective ratio. it will scale down instead of up, and will overall look better!

Re: Vista RC1
But you could kind of do that with the side bar. They are all detachable.
