Reiner,

I'm going to see these guys this Friday and I think you have mentioned them before? Pretty trippy stuff, for sure, and part of that movement encorporating non- rock standard instruments into their music. Should be fun.

I'm actually going with my daughter to see her friend, Dante DeCaro, (former Hot Hot Heat guitar player) who's opening up the show with some band. She keeps telling me how cool his new stuff is but I've yet to hear it and I'm curious to hear how far removed from HHH it is.

She supposed to be getting a CD from him soon, so I'll hook you up with some stuff to check out, once I get it.

They're good, but WAY overrated, I think, and I know Ryanfag does too.

Although from what I've seen of them live on Conan, it looks like they go wild performing.

How is the arcade fire at all trippy? They are some exceptional indie-rock-pop stuff, and this is something a wilco / rilo kiley / appleseed fan would listen to, and adore. It's a little offbeat, but the chords are easy to follow, and this isn't at all trippy. I love the raw intensity of their cd and ep. It has such a sense of nostalgia, it's almost like listening to a book. They are one of my top 10 bands, and funeral was one of the most critically aclaimed albums of 2004, sp check them out.

Btw, the concert should rock. They were in the city for a festival this weekend, but i was busy working. Enjoy!

Thx guys.

As for "trippy" all I've heard from AF, is stuff on their site and what I heard, was "trippy" to me at least but I think what you and I think is "trippy" differs, Fly..

Regardless, these guys are a throw in and if I don't like them, I'll just split. I'm going mainly to hear Dante so really don't care if these guys are weak live.

LOL @ Pat's line
