Great site for trading Sports Cards and Memorabilia

http://www.sportscardforum.com/
Been spending a significant amount of time on this site, been working on building up my personal collection.
I have a trade in the works for a Sidney Crosby Autograph Rookie (WEEEEEEEEE), although I traded a Tiger Woods Autograph for it.
Trying to work out another trade for some autographs, hope it works out.

Check out my personal collection here: http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/p...Deck/NFT%20PC/

lol, that would be hilarious, but would deface the card, and actually lower the value
the A-Rod card books at like $150 or so...

Nice set.... I remember when cards were something you bought at the corner store and had really bad gum in them.

I did have the entire 1981 Topps Baseball set. Not sure if it's all still there. they are all in a box in my son's closet.

Probably worth about $30 now a days, I imagine.

Re: Great site for trading Sports Cards and Memorabilia

did you put the set together? or was it a factory complete set?
as a complete set raw(ungraded), probably couldn't get much for it, but if you get all the key cards graded, you could prob make some good $$$. especially worth grading if it's a factory complete set (better chance for a high grade card).
beckett grading is the best way to go.

No it is a full set that I accumulated during the 1981 season. Cards were fun to collect back then. I thought about getting it graded, but unfortunately the 1981 season had no real great rookie cards.

How much does it cost to get all of them graded?

I'm so out of how the card business works now a days.

Re: Great site for trading Sports Cards and Memorabilia

I should dig up all of my old cards and get myself some Christmas money.

Had quite a few decently valued cards. Haven't been up to date in years though.

Re: Great site for trading Sports Cards and Memorabilia

usually it costs about $7~$10 per card to get graded.
check the card condition, use a magnifying glass to check.
thing to look for:
centering (make sure it's 50/50)
corners (sharp)
surface (see if there are any scratches or marks)
edges (see if edges are nice and straight, and no fray)

beckett is the has the most strict guidelines for grading, but high grade beckett cards sell for higher than other grading services(PSA,GAI, etc).

the 1981 Topps doesn't have too many notable stars, but Kirk Gibson, Mike Scocia and Nolan Ryan are the key cards. too bad it wasn't 1982 Topps (Cal Ripken Jr RC)

Wow that's a nice card. What are you trying to get for it?
