Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

Rails against dems and republicans

I would also just like to say this:

I pay ~500 per month for my healthcare, and I have the "good" healthcare. BlueCross BlueShield is my provider. I have had two children born to Dara and I. We followed all the rules, had all the paperwork in order, we did everything right. So far, of those two children born to me, my health care provider HAS NOT COVERED FUCKING ONE OF THEM. They look and dig for the shittiest reasons to deny your claim, and it has cost me $15,000 of hard cash that I have had to repay over the course of two years. FUCK THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

And do you think that a healthcare system run by our government is going to be worth a CRAP? Its messed up now because if you do not know how to play their game, you get what you went through. But if you know how to play their game, you can win. Healthcare companies are going to deny you the first time EVERYTIME. They are going to deny you the second time, most of the time. They are going to deny you the third time a bit of the time, but if your claim is legit, you can get it paid for. And as far as keeping the hospitals and everyone off your back, as long as you pay SOMETHING towards your balance while you fight your health care "provider", they can not do anything. So you would have been out a couple hundred dollars, and thats about it.

Government run ANYTHING is a freekin nightmare. Do not fool yourselves into thinking that its all rainbows and butterflies around the corner.

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

At least you can afford to put dara on your plan. I couldn't with Ali, and even if I could have it wouldn't have been equivelant coverage...like that would have meant shit beings it didn't cover maternity+

Woe but none should suffer without an IOU attached at their behest. If you want Government run healthcare guess what....you can get it right now...quit your job, and apply for Medicare, have fun with the paper work.

From what I've heard, everyone that is on government run healthcare loves it, such as the military and congress. Anyone who believes having the government involved would be worse than having the greedy insurance companies who profit off of screwing sick people is, in my humble opinion, grossly incorrect.

Besides the $15,000 in cash I've had to pay over two years, also include the $500 per month on top of that I've paid for my health care for four years. That's $24,000. And what have they fucking done for me? Not a god damned thing.
NOT. A. GOD. DAMNED. THING.
And I've fought with them over coverage and claims, believe me. We even took it to court. TWICE. I would kill for a public option, at the very LEAST it would make them want to compete.

Chad works for the state - it's not federal, but it's government run just the same. Why don't we ask him how he likes his health care? The poor fellow has had to use the hell out of it the past few years, I'm sure he knows quite well how it works. I don't know about the rest of your states, but living in NY and having friends who work for the state, they absolutely LOVE state run health care. I have two aunts that work for the Post Office and their federal health care covers pretty much EVERYTHING. I would LOVE to be on NY State health care, or what federal employees currently have. People are talking about how government health care would suck, as if we don't already have it...we do, and those that are on it are fucking lucky, as opposed to those of us who have to go through fucking BlueFuck BlueCunts.

Excuse the excessive foul language, but health care is an extremely sensitive topic for me.

Blue Cross/ Blue Shield is who the government pays for that awesome healthcare.

Translation, the government PAYS A PRIVATE INSURER TO MANAGE IT'S HEALTHCARE.

But there are different plans and divisions available, and the ones that they offer to non government employees blow dick. I want whatever federal employees have, and whatever that is, it is most certainly NOT what the rest of us are able to get.

You can get it as long as you've got kidney's to sell to pay for it. The reason those plans are selective to those employment groups is due almost entirely to group purchasing power, and the ability of the employer, e.g. government to regulate whom is/isn't covered by virtue of who it hires/fires.

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

My wife works for the state, and has for the last 7 years, but as Joeboo pointed out, its private healthcare, NOT government RUN healthcare.

Do I think the healthcare industry needs to get a swift kick in the pants? HELL YES!!!! Do I think that government run health care is the answer, FUCK NO!!!!! There is no way in hell that I want my government providing myself, OR ANYBODY ELSE, healthcare. I have no desire to justify my health needs to the government, NOR do I want them to have that type of knowledge of me. I am already to the breaking point of how large our government has become. Letting it control our healthcare?!?!?!? What the hell is next? Are we going to ditch this new socialist movement they have started for a communist stance? Come on, wake up and see the hand of the government elbow deep up your ass. Do you seriously want them to start wiggling their fingers now?

Only if I get a hand shimmy in the process.

And by no means does that mean I approve of the healthcare BS by the gov.

err, i'm pretty sure this public option is going to be just like what gov. employees get right now, i.e. gov. contracts a private insurer using group discount to offer the "public option" at a cheaper price. pretty much like extending their "employee-only" coverage to everyone (but maybe not as good?).

At least.. that's what i thought the bill was supposed to provide... i could be wrong...
