Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

Jerm, you've been buying into the lies that the medical industry bought senators and congressmen have been spewing. The government isn't taking over health care, as Dave said, they're going to be offering a government option for a health care plan. They don't pick your doctors or your treatment, they don't change how the private sector works, they're going to be adding competition to the market.

Here's one way I look at it: the proposals they're talking have the current medical insurance agencies absolutely losing their minds and going ape shit. They're totally beside themselves. They're furious and are completely rabid to stop this reform. That has to mean one thing, if nothing else: the American people are going to benefit. They won't be able to have the same kind of power that they did to totally ass rape the sick and steal from the hard working American who pays thousands upon thousands of dollars to this defunct and criminal system.

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

If you believe that the government will not turn this into what they will pay for and what they will not pay for, YOU ARE CRAZY. What has the government EVER done that did not turn increasingly more and more difficult and more of a pain in the ass?

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

Well I dont think anyone knows what it will entail. Obama says it wont be a single provider, but Barney Frank and other Dems say it will be.

It'll be a lot of fun reaching the point where they think you should die and having them start preparing you for death instead of trying to prevent it.

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

Also consider this: the government insurance option is just that: AN OPTION. If it sucks, if you think they're too controlling, and you don't want to use them...then don't!! This is adding competition to the market. That's GOOD. Those of you that are deathly afraid of it, just don't use it! It's like this: If Adobe said they were making a new OS, and everyone started going OMFG IT'S GOING TO BE A POS I DON'T WANT THEM INVADING MY COMPUTER AND PRIVACY AND CONTROLLING WHAT HARDWARE I USE etc etc, well then stick with Linux or MS...

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

I will 100% agree that I am NOT down with using tax money to pay for more government welfare, or to pay for something that a huge % of people don't want. In fact, that's one of the huge problems I have with this whole deal. So on that point, I couldn't agree more.
However,
You've changed your argument now several times...you were talking about how you didn't want the government taking over health care, which I think we kind of debunked (and I agree with your postion, but that isn't gonig to be happening). Then you were talking about how the health care program the government would create would run terrible, since it would be managed by the government, and I pointed out that even if this were true, no one is being forced to use it...and then you said you didn't want the government knowing that much about you, or controlling your doctors/treatments, etc - again, you don't have to use it. I understand your frustration, but I'm not certain my counterpoints have been really addressed at all...

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

But the democrats who want this healthcare reform passed dont even know what it will look like in the end. How can you debunk something that hasnt been settled on? Like I said earlier, Barney Frank and other democratic congressmen are out there claiming it's going to be a single provider ie the government. Obama is saying it wont so who knows. Then there are versions where you can keep your current healthcare with your job, but if you change jobs you only get the government's version. So saying you KNOW what is going to be true and what isn't is pretty laughable

One thing that they've been consistent on is that the current system or providers won't be fucked with. Straight from the words of Obama's mouth like 3 days ago, that's what I'm going off. If it changes, then so does my position (from supporting to not supporting).

The same guy who admitted he hadn't read the proposed bill when he was questioned by a caller on this very issue? Im sorry, but straight from his mouth doesn't seem to mean much.

Let's hope that our president's policies are as flexible as your perspective.
