Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

...Except that government run HC can work. It APPEARS to be working right now. Read the article I posted last page about the people in VT.

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

Let's take a look at some of the non-contentious facts here.

1. Not a single Republican vote is required to pass healthcare reform legislation. The Democratic Party has sufficient votes within it's own caucus to pass any legislation they desire. The Republican caucus does not even have a parlimentary option short of appealing to the public interest. Of course this ignores political ramifications, however it is nonetheless fact.

2. This issue is somewhat of a faux debate considering that there is no established 'plan' to discuss. There is a House Bill, a Senate Bill, and a phantom plan that the President himself may or may not have in mind. While any or all of these surely have more in common than they do disparity, there are differences.

3. No one 'competes' with the government for your tax dollars.

I heard a comment from James Carville to the affect of; I say put the bill out there, and let the (Republicans) philibuster it, kill it. James Carville is a brilliant political strategist...but disingenious deception is not strategy, it is just flat out deception. Mr. Carville's statement is simply put IMPOSSIBLE...that is, unless some Democrats break with the party, and vote agianst reform legislation in whatever form it may come.

Now the idea of the government entering into this industry to enhance private sector competition is as nonsensical as playing tennis against the line judge. Any time you get one past him, he can just call the shot out of bounds...who are you gonna appeal too? Who would you argue with?

Re: Keith Olbermann Special Comment On Health Care Reform

So I talked to some of our customers yesterday about this whole debate, and they brought up some interesting points. According to the proposed health care, you can "KEEP" your current health care, unless there are any changes to your current health care. Wait, what do you mean? That means if there are ANY changes, as in if the state of TX changes something that effects all policies, WHOOPS, gone. Interesting.

Also, they are basing this proposed health care on the Massachusetts current health care. That state has the HIGHEST number of doctors per capita, in the nation. And thanks to their new "Giver everyone health care" bill, they now also sport the longest waiting time to see your doctor.

Citation needed ^ I'm not doubting what's been said, but I would like to see where and in which bill the above mentioned is outlined.
