Post Paranormal Activity

I just got through watching Paranormal Activity. There is a high quality screener available, not a cam version. It's very clear and almost DVD quality. I thought the movie was spooky as hell and a perfect movie for Halloween. I found myself flinching a few times throughout the movie and pulling my blanket up to face, as if it was a force field. It may not be some people's cup of tea, especially if you dont care for a camera bobbing around, ala Blair Witch or Cloverfield. If you can overlook the camera constantly moving around and the cut scenes, I think you will enjoy this movie. I recommend watching it at night time with all the lights turned off in your house. Or you could always pay $10 for a ticket at your local theater + $20 for candy and soda and battle the hordes of noisy teenagers. Whichever you prefer. I give this movie

Re: Paranormal Activity

I thought it was pretty good as well.

The ending pissed me off though

I agree, without giving away too much, I knew what was going to happen before it happened.

Re: Paranormal Activity

if you didn't see it at the movies you didn't see the movie ending. The "other" version has a different ending.

Yeah, no doubt! I want to see the "movie" ending now.

Post Re: Paranormal Activity

I just read on Wikipedia that the ending attached to the theatrical version of the film was suggested by Steven Spielberg. Spielberg took the screener home to watch and allegedly returned to DreamWorks the next day with the DVD in a garbage bag, because he thought the DVD was haunted. According to Spielberg, minutes after he viewed the film, his bedroom doors "locked by themselves" and he could not get out without calling in a locksmith. He believes that it was a paranormal encounter. The Wikipedia article also went on to say that there was an earlier scene in the original version that was replaced with a new scene that's in the theatrical version. There is actually another third alternate ending that was shown at one public viewing. Here is the link to the Wiki that explains the alternate endings. This link has movie spoliers, so if you want to go in fresh, dont click here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranormal_Activity_(film)

I just watched the theatrical ending, but it was kind of out of context and the video & audio quality was craptastic, compared to the screener. The theatrical ending was good, both endings were about even in my book. That third alternate ending didnt sound bad either, I have yet to see it though.

Re: Paranormal Activity

is this more about possession or just a haunted house? I will never watch the Exorcist again - it gave me nightmares for about a week... There is nothing more frightening to me than demonic possession.. Call me weird i guess.

Arrow Re: Paranormal Activity

The basic plot is that some sort of paranormal activity has been following and scaring a woman for years. She just moved in with her boyfriend, but she never mentioned anything to him about it until after the fact.
