possible to clean up blurry digital image?

A good friend of mine has this cute pic she took of her daughter, and was asking me about cleaning it up since its blurry/slightly out of focus.

is there any thing that can be done to clean this image up?

any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: possible to clean up blurry digital image?

Honestly -- one thing that cannot be fixed (very well) with photoshop is out of focus images

Photoshop can work magic on all kinds of other problems, but not on focus problems.

One thing that can help some, is to slightly increase the contrast, and run a bit of sharpening, but that will only go so far...

Bottom line, it will be easier to recreate the photograph and lesson learned for future than it will be to fix it.

I concur If using "unsharp mask" filter doesn't do it, you would literally have to paint the face from scratch, so unless your michaelangeo's grandson...

but if it's not to blurry and you have photoshop, you could try this tutorial.

if you dont have PS I could try for you.

If you send me the photo, I can work whatever magic I have on the photo.
