was wondering if any of you have ever taken any speed reading classes or read books on it...

i just read a book on it, the Evelyn Wood 7 day speed reading book...it is pretty intense

i found that i can read alot faster by using the hand motions, i went from 300ish wpm up to 500 after just using the hand underlining technique

i'd like to get up to around 1200wpm...but to do that you have to be able to vertically read (and get away from subvocal reading)...im not quite there after just having finished the book 10 minutes ago...

just wondering if any of you guys can do it, and if so what kind of tips you have...

I dunno exactly how many words per minute I can read, but I'm a pretty fast reader.

I found after I read that book that my speed increased also. I topped out around 500wpm.

I'm told that the more you do it, the faster you become at recognizing whole phrases at a glance. I rarely read technical manuals anymore and when reading for pleasure, speed reading sucks.
